Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It?
Is LinkedIn Premium worth it? See what the free account already does, what every plan adds, the trial and refund rules and when paying makes sense.

LinkedIn Premium is worth paying for when you have one clear job for it, like reaching recruiters or finding leads. This guide shows what the free account already does (see how to create a LinkedIn account if you do not have one yet, or how to use LinkedIn for beginners to set one up first), what the plans add, how the trial and refund rules work and when you can skip paying. Every fact comes from LinkedIn Help, read on 25 October 2026.
Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It?
Is LinkedIn Premium worth it for you? It depends on the task. Google's AI Overview said on 25 October 2026 that Premium is generally not worth it for casual users and can help as a short tool for an active job seeker. LinkedIn Help names the same three groups. The table matches every goal to the plan LinkedIn Help lists for it.
| Your goal | Plan LinkedIn Help lists | InMail credits a month |
|---|---|---|
| Get hired | Premium Career | 5 |
| Grow a business | Premium Business | 15 |
| Find clients and hire | Premium All-in-One | 30 |
| Generate leads | Sales Navigator Core | 50 |
| Find and hire talent | Recruiter Lite | 30 |
Our view is short. Pay when a listed tool matches a task you will do this month. Skip Premium when you only read, post or reply.
Is LinkedIn Premium worth it for a small business? Premium Business and Premium All-in-One list business tools and give 15 and 30 InMail credits a month. Compare the price with the number of leads you can reach, and drop the plan when the leads stop.
When the Free Account is Enough
You do not need Premium to browse, read posts or receive messages. LinkedIn Help says the free account finds colleagues and classmates, requests and gives recommendations, searches and views profiles, receives unlimited InMail and saves up to three searches with weekly alerts.
When Premium Starts to Make Sense
Premium adds tools for sending and for insight. LinkedIn Help lists InMail credits to send messages, a profile viewer list that reaches back 365 days, private browsing, applicant insights, direct messaging and profile writing help. LinkedIn Help also says Premium Career is the closest thing to an individual LinkedIn Learning plan. So is LinkedIn Premium worth it? In our view yes, when two of these tools match your week.
What does LinkedIn Premium Cost?
LinkedIn Help states no price in the articles we read. Outside sources give figures, and they do not match.
| Source | Premium Career figure | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Neal Schaffer | $39.99 a month or $239.88 a year | Revised 6 October 2026 |
| Google AI Overview | 1,490 to 1,568 rupees a month in India | Seen 25 October 2026 |
| A Google search result from ConnectSafely | 2,400 to 2,800 rupees a month | Dated 8 September 2026 |
The two India figures differ by almost double. LinkedIn can change a price by country, billing cycle and date, so the price screen in your own account is the only number to trust. Settle the price first and then ask again. Is LinkedIn Premium worth it at that number? Only the account owner can buy these plans, says LinkedIn Help, so do not pay anyone outside your own screen.
How does the LinkedIn Premium Free Trial Work?
LinkedIn Help says eligible members can try Premium free for one month. Trial length can change by region or offer.
- You enter a valid credit card to start the trial.
- You cannot switch between Premium plans for free during the trial.
- The trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel before it ends.
- If you cancel a free trial, you wait at least 12 months for another one, and Premium access stops at once.
How to Cancel LinkedIn Premium
The steps differ for LinkedIn, the Apple App Store and Google Play. Cancel at least one day before the next billing date. A paid plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle, and your Premium features, including InMail messages, expire then.
Can You Get a LinkedIn Premium Refund?
Sometimes. A Premium subscription can be refundable within 7 days of the charge, as long as you have not used Premium. A refund you got before can affect your eligibility. Premium Career, Premium Business, Premium All-in-One, Recruiter Lite, Sales Navigator, LinkedIn Learning and the company profile plan all sit under this rule.
Where you bought changes the route.
- A subscription bought in the LinkedIn iOS app goes through Apple, because Apple issues every iOS refund.
- If you live in India and your subscription includes a withholding tax, you send the refund request to LinkedIn within 180 days of the start.
- In the European Union you are entitled to a full refund during the 14 days after the subscription begins, and LinkedIn Help says a free trial starts that clock on its first day.
What is Still Unconfirmed
LinkedIn Help lists no price, so no figure above is official. We did not buy a plan, so the label on this guide is Checked. We read no independent test of whether Premium leads to more interviews or sales. Google's AI Overview and other summaries say Premium shows profile viewers for 90 days, while the LinkedIn Help table says 365. We follow LinkedIn Help and tell you to check the screen in your account.

LinkedIn Help states no price, and the outside figures we found disagree. Neal Schaffer lists $39.99 a month for Premium Career. Google's AI Overview showed 1,490 to 1,568 rupees a month in India on 25 October 2026. Check the price screen in your own account.
Is LinkedIn Premium free?
