Disclaimer
Social Media Twist Disclaimer
The Social Media Twist disclaimer explains what our guides can promise, our independence from the platforms, the Twist box and affiliate links.
This disclaimer explains what the guides on Social Media Twist (smtwist.com) can promise and what they cannot. Every guide is either tested on a real account or checked against official help, but social media apps change all the time and your account is yours. Please read this disclaimer before you follow a guide that changes a setting you cannot undo.
This Disclaimer in Short
Five Things to Know
- This disclaimer covers everything on SMTwist. Our guides are information, not professional advice.
- SMTwist is independent. No platform approves, sponsors or reviews our guides.
- A guide matches the app on the date at the top. Apps change after that.
- A Twist box is the writer's own test result and opinion.
- Sponsored and affiliate links are always labelled.
Disclaimer on Advice: Guides are Information
Every how to on SMTwist is written to help you fix a setting, grow an account or choose a tool. That help is general information based on our own tests and checks, not legal, financial, business or technical advice for your situation.
Before you act on a guide that affects money, a client's account or a legal question, like running ads, selling on social or handling a copyright claim, check with a qualified professional or the platform's own help centre.
Independence Disclaimer
Social Media Twist is not linked to Meta, TikTok, Google, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snap or any other platform we write about. Inside access to their systems is not something we have. We learn how a feature works the same way you do: by using the app.
Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat and the other platform names on SMTwist belong to their owners. A guide about a platform does not mean the platform has checked or approved it.
Apps Change After We Publish
Every guide shows the date it was last tested or checked. On that date the steps matched the app for a tested guide or the official help article for a checked guide. A tested guide also names the phone. After that date, a platform can move a menu, rename a setting or remove a feature without warning. Some features also roll out to different countries and account types at different times.
So the steps on your phone can differ from ours. When that happens, email connect@smtwist.com with the link and what you see. We check again and update the guide. Our editorial policy explains how we keep guides current.
Twist Box Disclaimer: One Test, Not a Rule
What the Twist Is
This part of the disclaimer matters most. The yellow box at the end of a tested guide holds one result from the writer's own test. It can be a setting that behaved differently, a menu that moved or a number we saw after trying something. That result is real and firsthand.
What the Twist is Not
A Twist comes from one account at one time. Reach, saves and views depend on your audience, your content and the platform's own changes. What happened to us does not promise the same will happen to you.
Your Account is Your Responsibility
Read before you tap
You follow a guide at your own risk. Before you delete a post, remove an account, change a privacy setting for a client or use a tool that posts for you, read the full guide first and make sure the action can be undone.
To the extent the law allows, Social Media Twist and Namrata Arora are not responsible for lost posts, lost followers, blocked or suspended accounts, lost income or any other result of following a guide. Our terms of use set this out in full.
Sponsored and Affiliate Link Disclaimer
Some guides carry links to tools and services. When we are paid for a link or earn a fee if you buy through it, the link is marked rel="sponsored" and the guide carries a "Sponsored" label at the top. A fee never changes a test result, a check or a Twist. We decline sponsors whose products could harm your account.
Links to other sites are there because we think they help. Those sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data.
Screens and Numbers
Screens
Phone screens in a guide can be screenshots from our own accounts with personal details blurred or drawn illustrations of a menu. They show where to tap. Your app can look different.
Numbers
Reach, views or follower counts in a guide come from a named source or from our own accounts on the test date. They are examples, not benchmarks.
Statistics from outside sources link to the original source with the year the data was collected. If a source turns out to be wrong, we correct the guide and note the change.
AI and SMTwist
AI tools help us with research and first drafts. They do not test anything and they never write the Twist. Namrata Arora approves the final text of every guide. We do not publish a guide that only an AI tool has checked. Our editorial policy has the full AI rules.
Changes and Questions
When the way we work changes, this disclaimer changes with it. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions about this disclaimer go to connect@smtwist.com. Put "Disclaimer" in the subject line so we see it quickly.
FAQ
Is Social Media Twist linked to Instagram, Facebook or TikTok?
No. SMTwist is an independent site. We are not linked to Meta, TikTok, Google, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snap or any other platform we write about.
Will a guide on SMTwist work on my phone?
Not always. Platforms change and roll out features in stages. The date at the top shows when the steps were last tested or checked. If the steps look different on your phone, email us and we will check again.
Is the Twist box a fact or an opinion?
It is one result from the writer's own test, so a Twist appears only on tested guides. The result is real, but it comes from one account at one time and can differ from what you see.
Does SMTwist earn money from links?
Sponsored and affiliate links are marked with a label and rel=sponsored. We can earn a fee if you buy through one. It never changes what we write.
