LinkedIn Guides for Professionals and Brands

LinkedIn guides for people who post and brands that advertise. What LinkedIn says first, then the guides.

LinkedIn guides on Social Media Twist cover the professional network for two groups, namely people who post and brands that advertise. Ten are published and thirty three more are planned. The newest, how to use LinkedIn for beginners, follows how to create a LinkedIn account in the account setup topic. Until then, this hub lists what LinkedIn Help says about posts, which ad objectives LinkedIn names and the member figures it reports. Every guide will be marked Tested or Checked, as our editorial policy explains.

What LinkedIn Help Says About Posts

LinkedIn Help describes a post as text that can carry photos, video, documents and polls. The limits below come from LinkedIn Help, read on 25 October 2026. Our Post on LinkedIn topic holds the detail, and how to post on LinkedIn gives the steps.

Item What LinkedIn Help says
Post text Up to 3,000 characters
Scheduling, personal profile 10 minutes to 3 months ahead
Scheduling, company profile 1 hour to 3 months ahead
Poll 2 to 4 options, one week by default

Tools for Brands

LinkedIn Help names eight ad objectives in three tiers. Budgets can be daily, weekly or total, and bids follow an auction. Our LinkedIn Ads Formats and Setup topic lists them. A company profile is free to create. Our LinkedIn Marketing for Business topic covers its admin roles and the rules on automation tools.

Where Our LinkedIn Guides Stand

LinkedIn changes its menus and plans without notice, so a guide here shows when it was last checked. A guide is Tested when Namrata Arora tried the steps on a real account and Checked when it was compared with official help only. Changes are logged on our change log. To find a LinkedIn term, use the SMTwist search or the social media glossary. If you have tested a LinkedIn feature yourself, you can pitch it through Write for Us.
