Social Media Twist (SMTwist) is built for people who use Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other apps every day. We write step by step social media guides, caption lists and plain English updates. Every guide is marked Tested or Checked, so you know how far to trust the steps. SMTwist is new and guides go live one at a time.
Why We Built SMTwist
Help articles tell you which button to press. They rarely tell you what happens next. Menus move between app updates. A setting on an iPhone can sit somewhere else on Android. Advice like "post consistently" does not fix the problem you came with.
We wanted a site that answers the question you typed into Google, shows the steps that work today and then adds one thing we learned by trying it ourselves. That last part is the Twist.
The Problem
Official steps are right on the day they were written. A month later the menu has moved, the toggle has a new name and the guide you found still shows the old one.
What SMTwist Does
For a tested guide we tap through every step on a live account and write down the phone and the app version. We review a guide again when the app changes. The date at the top tells you when.

How We Test and Check Guides
A tested guide goes through four steps. We read the official help article first. We test every step on a real account and note the phone, the app version and the date. We record what changed, because that answer becomes the Twist. We recheck after updates and change the date at the top.
A guide we have only compared with official help is marked Checked and carries no Twist until the test is done. The full rules are in our editorial policy.
What the Twist Means
The Twist, in One Line
SM stands for social media. The Twist is the yellow box near the end of every tested guide. It holds one result from our own test. The result can be a setting that behaved differently from the help article, a step that only works on one phone or a number we saw after trying it. It is short and it is always firsthand.

Apps change fast and we sometimes miss an update. Email connect@smtwist.com with the link and what you saw on your phone. We check it, fix the guide and update the date.
