Glossary group
Social Media Apps and Platforms
Social media apps and platforms are the places where people post, chat, stream or share, like BeReal, Twitch and WhatsApp. This group of our social media glossary will say what every app is and who uses it, so you can read a guide or a client brief and know the name.
Social Media Apps and Platforms in This Group
We are writing 7 entries in three kinds. Photo and video apps include BeReal and Lemon8. Live and chat apps include Twitch and WhatsApp. Creator platforms include OnlyFans, Milkshake App and Myspace. Some names are new to you and others are old, so every entry will say how the app is used today.
How We Describe a Social Media App
An entry will say what the app does, who uses it and where it works. Apps change their features without notice, so every entry will show the date we last checked it. The glossary explains names and does not rank them. For longer topics, go to our Other Platforms section as guides go live there.
We never present a mention as a recommendation. Our disclaimer covers our independence from every brand.
